When Paris Saint-Germain changed to their sporting and managerial positions, it was to have someone mold the squad into one that could help their star players like Kylian Mbappé win the UEFA Champions League in 2022-23.
The capital club brought Luis Campos as the sporting advisor to build a team that can click and not only have a starting eleven with name recognition.
Additionally, PSG allowed Campos to appoint Christophe Galtier to manage the team, having worked together at Lille OSC. The changes made over the summer will be put to the test on Tuesday against Juventus on Matchday 1 of the UEFA Champions League.
Mbappé spoke with Canal Plus ahead of the matchup, where the French media outlet asked the 23-year-old if PSG’s changes this summer are enough for them to lift the Champions League trophy.
“A better armed PSG this season? I don’t know, I don’t know (smiles),” Mbappé said. “Only the field will tell.
“I think it’s up to the club to say if they’re happy with what happened this summer or with the changes they’ve made. They are the ones who will answer you better than me.”
Along with Juventus, PSG will face off against Benfica and Maccabi Haifa in Group H as the French giants attempt to advance to the knockout rounds.
