Former World Cup Winner Marvels at Current Form of PSG Star

Neymar Jr. is off to a fantastic this 2022-23 football season, scoring ten goals and recording seven assists through nine appearances in all competitions.

The 30-year-old is playing like a man on a mission that wants to win the FIFA World Cup, UEFA Champions League, and Ballon d’Or all in one season. Neymar has the talent to accomplish this feat, so it’s no surprise many are marveling over his current form.

Amazon Prime Video analyst Thierry Henry is one who enjoys watching Neymar’s performance to start the new season.

“We can talk about all that, but when he does not run or would not run, we say it,” Henry said (h/t Canal Supporters). “There it must be said; he runs, he repeats the races to go deep. He does not balk at work; he tackles, and he always remains glued to his team. He makes the effort.

“Multiplying the sprints, it’s not easy. He is also physically well; he has prepared himself. […] What I really like at the moment is his way of being. He is a leader, and he is showing it not only with the ball but also without the ball. His match against Juventus was for me extraordinary and exemplary in terms of self-sacrifice and envy.”

There’s no denying Neymar’s talent to continue this form and carry it throughout the season. For the Brazil international, injuries would likely be the only reason his performance takes a hit.

The injury bug always finds the 30-year-old since he joined PSG in 2017. If Neymar can avoid any serious injury, where he’s out for a significant time, then the forward could be on the verge of a memorable season.
