The last of Paris Saint-Germain’s midfield additions from the recent summer transfer window made his debut on Saturday, as Fabian Ruiz featured in the side’s Ligue 1 home fixture against Brest.
Ruiz did not earn a start in the match, but he still ended up having quite a workload in his first appearance at PSG. The Italian midfielder came off the bench in the second half and wound up completing 40 passes and three tackles in 28 total minutes played.
Speaking after the match to Prime Video Sport France (via Le10Sport), Ruiz touched on his debut at PSG, where he also revealed the advice that he received from manager Christophe Galtier ahead of his cameo in the fixture.
“He told me to play my game, to do what I’ve done the last few years,” Ruiz said. “That’s what got me here today. It was nice to be able to help the team when I came in.”
Next up for PSG will be its UEFA Champions League away group stage fixture against Israeli side Maccabi Haifa on Wednesday, where Ruiz could end up featuring in the contest.
