The summer transfer window closes in a few hours, and it wouldn’t be the with some weird rumors that cause the media to discuss whether it can happen or not is out of the question. Neymar to Chelsea has been a rumor that has circulated, and now it’s back.
Neymar, for some reason, is again linked to The Blues, and while a move to Stamford Bridge would reunite him with former Paris Saint-Germain boss Thomas Tuchel, a transfer seems unlikely, according to ESPN’s Julien Laurens.
Laurens stated that a Neymar to Chelsea transfer could not occur in less than 24 hours due to the magnitude.
“I think it’s too late in the sense that PSG would obviously have to replace them,” Laurens said on ESPN FC. “Unless they already have a plan in place, which may be possible. I cannot see a deal like that. Quite complicated as well, considering the length of the contract still remaining for Neymar in Paris.
“… Right now, if you’re PSG unless, again, you’ve got the perfect replacement for him, which I’m not sure they do, it’s hard to let him go because he’s been the best player so far this season. It’s pretty easy. There’s not even a debate. I think, so I can’t see it happening.”
Chelsea is pushing to land another forward before the summer transfer window closes, but it seems as though they’ll have to look elsewhere for a less complicated deal.
Additionally, with Neymar off to a great start this season, it wouldn’t make sense for PSG to offload the Brazilian with the capital club having their eyes on winning the UEFA Champions League this season.
