The relationship between Kylian Mbappé and Neymar Jr. has dominated the headlines following the 5-2 win last weekend over Montpellier Hérault SC.
During Friday’s edition of Rothen s’enflamme, Jérôme Rothen provided insight into the saga regarding the two-star players of his former club.
The RMC Sport pundit stated that the Brazil international did not digest that the club gave the leadership to Mbappé.
Rothen foresees ego problems this season and ensures that, for the time being, the promise made to Mbappé to promote his extension has not been respected at all.
“There is a problem within the club with everything that has been sold to Kylian to stay,” Rothen said on his show. “There are things that do not hold true. It’s a problem of hierarchy (…)
“In my opinion, [Kylian Mbappé] has no problem with Neymar because in no case did he ask for Neymar to leave the club. It is the club that sold him a project where he is at the forefront of this project and that he was without Neymar at the base.”

Neymar likely isn’t leaving before the summer transfer window closes, so it will be interesting to see if the two players can get along if there’s an actual problem between them.
