This summer, there has been plenty of discussion regarding the future of Neymar Jr. The 30-year-old was linked to a possible departure, possibly to the Premier League, since the clubs in English football can afford to pay a fee and his wages.
However, no move has occurred, and as the preseason has shown, Neymar has come in with a different mentality, scoring a brace against FC Nantes in PSG’s 4-0 win in the Trophée des Champions on Sunday.
During a segment on Tuesday’s edition of L’ÉQUIPE du soir, France Bleu Paris journalist Bruno Salomon states PSG would be wise to hold onto the Brazilian rather than looking for a way to offload him this summer.
“Would PSG be wrong to separate? of Neymar this summer? Obviously yes,” Salomon said. “Neymar will lead the dance; he will be the king. I think he will prove to everyone that he is a champion. He has the pride of a champion.”
“It no longer really has any value on the market; no club can afford it. Neymar realized the pressure that was put on his shoulders. Whether Luis Campos or Nasser Al-Khelaïfi, they made him understand that we were waiting for the real Neymar today. When I see his relationship with Lionel Messi, I want him to stay. He must stay.”
