Paris Saint-Germain is close to loaning out one of the top players from their youth academy, midfielder Edouard Michut.
Discussions stalled after the capital club was looking to add a new clause last minute in the deal, which Sunderland didn’t accept. The nature of the clause they tried to modify is unknown.
However, whatever issues were blocking the agreement with the last-minute modification appear to be resolved between PSG and the Championship side.
L’Équipe journalist Loïc Tanzi reported on Tuesday that Michut would travel to England again to join Sunderland in the next few hours to finalize his loan with an option to buy.
The report doesn’t confirm if the initial option to buy on the loan agreement will remain at €5 million and what percentage PSG would want in a future sale of the 19-year-old.
Nonetheless, both sides are happy with the deal proceeding to be completed. Michut joins Xavi Simons as the latest players to leave the PSG academy this summer in search of first-team minutes to further their development.
