Report: PSG’s Veteran Defender Eyes Return to National Team Ahead of World Cup

After dealing with an injury last season, Paris Saint-Germain defender Sergio Ramos appears to have put that behind them and is off to a good start this 2022-23 season.

Despite being 35 years old, Ramos has his eyes on suiting up for one last FIFA World Cup. Spanish publication Marca reported on Tuesday that Ramos’ good moment at PSG again puts a possible return to the Spain national team on the table.

Three months before the start of the World Cup in Qatar, the center-back is not giving up and will do everything possible to regain manager Luis Enrique’s trust after almost a year and a half of absence from La Roja’s call-ups.

Ramos’ last game for Spain was against Kosovo on March 31, 2021, which would be the final time the veteran defender received a call-up as a Real Madrid player. Since then, the center-back has dealt with injuries.

Now that all those physical problems seem to be behind him, Ramos is ready to be a significant player on the PSG squad and fight to ensure he makes his fifth World Cup appearance.
