Report: PSG’s Projected Starting 11 for Ligue 1 Season Opener vs. Clermont Foot

Paris Saint-Germain is set to open up its Ligue 1 campaign on Saturday, as it will meet Clermont Foot for a key away matchup.

PSG comes into this match with only one notable injury concern, as Kylian Mbappe has been ruled out for the fixture due to an adductor injury. His status for PSG’s Ligue 1 home opener against Montpellier is currently up in the air.

At the least, as noted by Ligue 1’s official website, PSG manager Christophe Galtier could very well roll out the same lineup that he went with in the 2022 Trophee des Champions Final.

Donnarumma; Ramos, Marquinhos, Kimpembe; Hakimi, Verratti, Vitinha, Mendes; Messi; Neymar, Sarabia

PSG shined in the Trophee des Champions final against Nantes, scoring four goals. Both Marco Verratti and Vitinha played crucial roles in the fixture, and they could go on to start in Galtier’s expected 3-4-1-2 setup in the match.

Amid the criticism that Neymar received over the past year, he sure silenced critics in the Trophee des Champions final with two goals. PSG sure could use another standout performance from him in this upcoming contest.

PSG won both fixtures against Clermont Foot last season, as it scored a combined 10 goals in the matches.
