Report: PSG Targets Monaco Star Defender as Alternate to Milan Škriniar

Paris Saint-Germain is keen on adding a central defender before the summer transfer window closes on Sept. 1. The capital club has been linked to Inter Milan’s Milan Škriniar; however, a new alternative has surfaced, AS Monaco’s Axel Disasi.

French football journalist Saber Desfarges reported on Saturday that the 24-year-old is on the short list of players PSG is targeting to fill the center-back role. Manager Christophe Galtier is playing a three-at-the-back system and needs to rotate players.

Desfarges adds that sporting advisor Luis Campos highly appreciates the profile of the France international. The PSG club chief attempted to bring Disasi to Lille OSC in the past when the player was still in Reims.

Monaco holds power regarding negotiations, considering Disasi is under contract until 2025. As a result, the Ligue 1 rival doesn’t need to sell, but after crashing out in the UEFA Champions League qualifying rounds, they might be open to a deal.

Regarding a possible fee, Transfermarkt puts the central defender’s value at €17 million, but with three more years left on his contract, the price could be slightly higher.
