Report: PSG Star Will Not Exit Despite Recent Links to Chelsea

Chelsea is hoping to land another forward this summer transfer window, and recent information shared by CBS Sports’ Ben Jacobs drummed up possible speculation of a Neymar Jr. to Stamford Bridge.

Nonetheless, Sky Sports’ Kaveh Solhekol reported on Wednesday that there’s no realistic scenario in which PSG decides to sell Neymar. Solhekol states that the 30-year-old’s name has been floated at the club, which is looking for another forward.

Despite the claim, the reporter does say that Chelsea has new American owners with deep pockets and thinking from a marketing perspective would generate a boost along with the addition to the production on the pitch.

“Is Neymar on the move? I don’t think so, honestly,” Solhekol said. “Look, Chelsea are looking for another forward. The name of Neymar has potentially been mentioned … He wants him to stay. He’s getting on very well with Kylian Mbappé, which is always important.

“We’re being told that it is very unlikely that Neymar will be leaving PSG unless something truly extraordinary happens before the window closes. Although people at PSG do recognize that if Chelsea wanted to do the deal, they have the financial firepower to be able to do it well.”

Additionally, Solhekol mentions that Neymar and Kylian Mbappé are getting along after some controversy. The Brazil international is also off to a hot start this 2022-23 season, so it would seem odd to move in the final hours of the summer transfer window.

The FIFA World Cup is also around the corner, and a move to the Premier League with needing to adapt, so a transfer doesn’t seem likely.
