After a notable wait, Paris Saint-Germain is now set to bring in Fabian Ruiz to its already stacked midfield.
According to Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, PSG and Napoli have reached an agreement for the transfer of Ruiz. The two clubs came to terms on a €23 million transfer deal for the midfielder that does not include bonuses.
Ruiz has now played in his final match for Napoli, as he is set to depart for PSG tomorrow.
For years, Ruiz had been linked with a possible move to PSG. Now-former PSG sporting director Leonardo aimed to bring in the veteran Spanish midfielder but failed to do so during his run at the club. Now, Ruiz, who had a mere one year left on his contract at Napoli, is set to feature in Ligue 1 for the first time in his career.
Ruiz will leave Napoli following a four-season run at the club. He has not featured in a single match with the Serie A side in the ongoing campaign amid his uncertain future at the club.
PSG football advisor Luis Campos has gone all out to bolster the side’s midfield over the ongoing summer transfer window. It remains to be seen whether he aims to bring in any more such players in the coming days.
