Report: Mbappe Gets a Pivotal Injury Update Ahead of PSG’s Ligue 1 Fixture vs. Montpellier

After not featuring in Paris Saint-Germain’s opening two official matches of the new season, Kylian Mbappe could soon make his return to action.

As noted by L’Equipe, Mbappe took part in PSG’s scheduled training session on Tuesday. As it stands, Mbappe “should start” his campaign in PSG’s upcoming Ligue 1 home fixture against Montpellier.

Mbappe missed the 2022 Trophee des Champions Final against Nantes due to a yellow card suspension that carried over from last season. He then went on to be ruled out from PSG’s Ligue 1 season opener against Clermont Foot due to an adductor injury.

However, the ailment for the French forward was not at the time deemed to be a serious one. PSG manager Christophe Galtier did note following the victory over Clermont Foot that in the case that the club had a UEFA Champions League match on its schedule instead, Mbappe may have played in the fixture.

PSG is aiming to open up the new league campaign with back-to-back convincing performances.
