Ander Herrera’s time at Paris Saint-Germain appears to be coming to an end as Marca reported on Tuesday that the 33-year-old is set for a return to Athletic Club, where he spent time from 2011 to 2014.

The Spanish media outlet adds that Herrera will arrive as a free agent to the La Liga side and will sign a two-year contract. However, the agreement has possible incentives that would allow for an extension if a series of objective conditioning factors are hit.

Herrera returns to Spain, having played at Real Zaragoza and Athletic before departing abroad, heading to Manchester United and then at PSG.

Under contract with PSG until 2024, Herrera will terminate his agreement with the French giants. In addition, the midfielder will waive part of his deal, which is a significant amount of money over 40 percent of the bonus he agreed to after arriving from Manchester United in 2019.

Herrera has forgiven the money to PSG so that his departure would not be due to a transfer that would affect Athletic’s offer.
