Report: Galatasaray in Serious Discussions on Loan Deal for PSG Veteran

A few days are left until the summer transfer window closes on Sept. 1. Clubs are making last-minute deals to either improve their squad or offload players who have no future, which is what Paris Saint-Germain is attempting to do with Mauro Icardi.

Icardi has been linked to various clubs this summer, with the capital club attempting to offload the striker, who failed to replace Edison Cavani. However, in these last days of the summer transfer window, the Argentine striker might be finding a new home.

Foot Mercato reported on Wednesday that discussions are underway between the 29-year-old’s entourage and Galatasaray. The French publication adds that a transfer for Icardi would be in the form of a loan with an option to buy.

Moving to the Turkish giant would allow Icardi to be in a less pressure situation to help regain his past form and allow Galatasaray to purchase him next summer or have another interested club take him off their hands.

The loan discussions are being driven by PSG sporting advisor Luis Campos, who has relationships with those inside the Istanbul-based side.
