Report: Chelsea More Advanced Than PSG for Leicester City Star

Paris Saint-Germain wants to secure a central defender before the summer transfer window closes in a few weeks. The capital club has an alternative target to Inter Milan’s Milan Škriniar in Leicester City’s Wesley Fofana.

However, CBS Sports’ Ben Jacobs reported on Tuesday that there are a couple of hurdles if the French giants want to bring Fofana back to Ligue 1. First, PSG’s valuation of the player is £25 million short of what The Foxes would consider a fair offer for their star defender, under contract until 2027.

Jacobs adds that the challenges of landing Škriniar could cause PSG to pivot to Fofana. Nonetheless, Les Parisiens do face competition from Chelsea to land the 21-year-old. The Blues are far more advanced and will test Leicester City’s resolve with a third prominent bid.

Fofana wants a move, but Leicester City will continue to play the defender as they remain reluctant to sell. For The Foxes to agree to a transfer, the key to a successful bid from an interested club is not just in the number but the deal’s structure.
