Paris Saint-Germain defender Abdou Diallo wants out of the capital club in search of more playing time. With Senegal in the FIFA World Cup, the 26-year-old wants to arrive in Qatar in the best form.
The summer transfer window is open for a few more days, and plenty of clubs scramble to secure last-minute deals. Two clubs are eyeing Diallo, hoping to get a deal done before the Sept. 1 deadline.
Le Parisien reported on Wednesday that Aston Villa is in the mix to land Senegal international, who would be open to the idea of playing under Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard.
However, if the Premier League club is indeed interested, they have not yet started opening discussions with PSG over Diallo. Furthermore, the English side isn’t alone in its pursuit.
Foot Mercato also reported on Wednesday that AS Roma is another club monitoring the situation regarding the PSG defender. Roma boss José Mourinho appreciates the versatility that Diallo would bring to his squad.
Additionally, Roma would be ready to draw up a loan offer with an obligation to buy, but the fee was not disclosed in the reporting by the French publication.
