Pundit Wouldn’t Sacrifice PSG Star to Bring Manchester City Forward

Paris Saint-Germain has been connected to Manchester City attacking midfielder/forward Bernardo Silva. Nonetheless, manager Pep Guardiola has stated his desire for the 28-year-old to remain with the Premier League side.

Silva would be a welcome addition to PSG, says French football pundit Damien Degorre. With the Portugal international being a rotational player at Manchester City, Degorre adds that Silva could play the same role in the French capital.

“I don’t think that abuse of wealth is harmful to PSG,” Degorre said on La Chaîne L’Equipe (via Canal Supporters). “Today, given the squad of Manchester City, he is a substitute.

“He’s such a quality player that he can do good when a forward is injured. So why not. Now, this must not be done on any condition. And whether PSG is capable of meeting these conditions today is another question.”

However, it appears any serious run at the Manchester City would result in PSG possibly departing from Neymar Jr., which Degorre wouldn’t do, considering the start the 30-year-old is off to this season.

“A departure from Neymar to see Bernardo Silva come ? No no, that’s not an option,” Degorre added.

The summer transfer window doesn’t close until Sept. 1, so time is running out to secure a deal for Silva to improve their attack further.

Also, it would provide the opportunity to rotate players since the majority will play more football this winter with the FIFA World Cup in late November.
