Lionel Messi has been among the multiple Paris Saint-Germain players who have turned around their form under manager Christophe Galtier. The Argentine forward has chipped in with six total goal contributions in the new season, which include five in Ligue 1 play.

Overall, Messi has recorded 12 total assists in Ligue 1 play in 2022. Out of all players in Europe’s top five leagues in the calendar year, no player has notched more assists in league play than Messi.

Messi has had multiple decisive performances as a playmaker this year. For one, he tallied one assist and also created four goal-scoring chances for teammates in PSG’s Ligue 1 season opener against Clermont Foot earlier this month.

For now, Messi is set for another key test in his PSG career, as the side will host AS Monaco up next on Ligue 1 matchday four. PSG heads into this match on the heels of scoring 17 total goals in its opening three matches of the new league campaign.
