Paris Saint-Germain is on the verge of telling Arnaud Kalimuendo goodbye as the 20-year-old striker, who had been linked to Leeds United for some weeks is going to continue his career in France.
Transfer window specialist Fabrizio Romano confirmed the report from L’Equipe that Kalimuendo is joining Stade Rennais with details and medical pending to complete the agreement.
Romano adds that Kalimuendo will sign a five-year contract with the Ligue 1 side and the €24 million or €25 million that PSG will be receiving from the sale is going to be re-invested in Napoli midfielder Fabián Ruiz.
Meanwhile, Leeds United’s interest in the France international never resulted in the Premier League club putting in a bid for the striker. As for the former PSG youth product, he’s coming off a successful loan stint with RC Lens, scoring 21 goals in 65 appearances.
Hugo Ekitike is already vying for minutes and the striker position and it appears as though sporting advisor Luis Campos has his sights set on another if and when they’re able to offload Mauro Icardi.
