The summer transfer window closes in a few days, and Paris Saint-Germain’s attempt to offload midfielder Idrissa Gueye has hit a roadblock. French publication L’Equipe reported on Friday that talks with Everton are at a standstill.
Everton’s management has, for the moment, stopped the negotiations while an agreement is still far from being found. Furthermore, the report states that this tactic puts pressure on PSG.
The English club is trying to lower the transfer fee or even force its French counterpart to terminate the Senegal international’s contract, expiring in 2023.
However, while waiting for the issue to resolve, Gueye has already agreed with Everton on his possible salary conditions.
It will be interesting to see how PSG navigates the latest issue in this transfer saga, whether they stand firm to their demands or want to offload the player that they’re willing to compromise to what Everton wants simply to part ways with the player this summer.
