Lionel Messi heads into his second campaign at Paris Saint-Germain with plenty of expectations on his plate. He shined as a playmaker over the course of last season, but on the other hand, he finished the campaign with a mere 11 goals scored in all competitions.
“Everyone sees what type of player he is,” Sarabia said. “He is an incredible player and we hope he will be as happy as possible so that he can demonstrate it and offer us this game that he knows how to play.”
Messi joined up with his PSG teammates for preseason a week earlier than expected. He has since been a regular in new PSG manager Christophe Galtier’s scheduled training sessions and also featured in the opening two friendly fixtures of PSG’s preseason schedule.
For now, PSG has two more friendly matches before it meets Nantes in the 2022 Trophee des Champions Final.
