Paris Saint-Germain has been discussing with Inter Milan over central defender Milan Škriniar. However, with ongoing talks and no deal yet reached, the capital club has looked at Plan B options, one of them being Sevilla’s Jules Kounde.
In his exclusive column for CaughtOffside’s Substack, transfer window specialist Fabrizio Romano provided an update on the future of Kounde, who, along with PSG, is linked to FC Barcelona and Chelsea.
According to Romano, The Blues are now back in for the France international, which could provoke the Spanish side to move quickly for the 23-year-old. Furthermore, with PSG also in the mix, the Catalan club has more urgency if Chelsea’s interest isn’t enough.
“These will be important days for some major centre-back deals,” Romano said. “Bayern Munich will make a new proposal for Matthijs de Ligt, while Chelsea remain keen on Presnel Kimpembe. Gleison Bremer could join Inter Milan, possibly to replace Milan Skriniar, who is in talks with Paris Saint-Germain.”
“Meanwhile, Barcelona want to push for Sevilla’s Jules Kounde as soon as possible knowing that Chelsea have got back in contact with his agents.”
It will be interesting to see if PSG at some points looks elsewhere if they cannot secure a deal with Inter Milan for Škriniar. The capital club did abandon its pursuit of Gianluca Scamacca and signed Hugo Ekitike to fill the striker role, so perhaps they could do the same with Kounde.
