Paris Saint-Germain has its share of players they want to offload this summer transfer window. One of them is Idrissa Gueye, who doesn’t appear to have a future in the French capital with the arrival of Vitinha and possibly Lille OSC’s Renato Sanches.
As a result, recent reports surfaced about Gueye making a return to Everton FC, where he spent three years from 2016 to 2019. Transfer window specialist Fabrizio Romano provided an update on a possible return to Goodison Park.
Romano states that the current Ligue 1 champions want Everton to pay Gueye’s remaining salary, but discussions remain ongoing to find a way to secure a deal.
Talks opened two days ago and are ongoing, with all parties interested in the move, including Gueye. No word on how much The Toffees will offer for the 32-year-old, but Transfermarkt puts the midfielders at €12 million.
It will be interesting to see if PSG can get that amount for a player whose contract expires in 2023.
