From his introductory press conference, newly appointed Paris Saint-Germain manager Christophe Galtier made clear that Neymar is part of his plans. He lauded Neymar as one of the top players in the world today, and he also made clear that he wants the Brazilian forward to “stay” put at PSG.
On the other hand, Neymar has early positive impressions of his new club manager.
As noted by UOL, Neymar has had conversations with Galtier that he considers to be “positive.” The two discussed tactical concepts, positioning on the pitch, and “variation of functions that were uncommon in [Mauricio] Pochettino’s time.” Compared to how Neymar was with the now-former PSG manager Pochettino, there is “more dialogue” behind the veteran forward and Galtier.
In the big picture, the report further added that Neymar will have “new responsibilities on the field” under the French manager.
Galtier has already noted that he aims to roll out PSG under a 3-4-1-2 formation, so it remains to be seen on just how he plans to get the best out of the Brazilian international in the coming season.
