The summer transfer window is well underway, and Paris Saint-Germain still has not yet signed a veteran center-back to bolster its backline depth.
PSG has at the least made a push to sign Inter Milan center-back Milan Skriniar to a permanent transfer deal.
According to Gianluca Di Marzio, PSG club official Antero Henrique touched base with Inter Milan club officials on Friday about the possibility of signing Skriniar. In the end, no agreement was found between the two sides on this matter, as Inter Milan remains firm in its desire to not reduce its demands for the veteran defender.
Inter Milan is at the least aiming to offload Skriniar for a €70 million transfer fee.
As it stands, PSG manager Christophe Galtier will have the likes of Marquinhos and Sergio Ramos to rely on to lead the team’s backline in the upcoming new season, whether in a four-at-the-back setup or one that consists of three defenders. It remains to be seen whether PSG will soon go all out to haul in Skriniar to add him to the team’s center-back depth chart.
