Georginio Wijnaldum with Paris Saint-Germain could be coming to an end as the 31-year-old is ready to leave the capital club this summer and look for an opportunity elsewhere.
According to Goal France (via Hadrien Grenier), AS Roma is interested and is studying the idea of a transfer and a loan with an option to buy. Furthermore, the two clubs would share the responsibility of paying the player’s salary.
However, suppose Roma and manager Jose Mourinho do indeed want the player. In that case, they will need to act fast as the French media outlet adds that two top ten Premier League clubs are also in the mix for Wijnaldum, but no word on which clubs those are at the moment.
Wijnaldum has plenty of experience in English football, so that would be a welcome return on his part. Nonetheless, the midfielder likely wants a situation that will give him a prominent role as he looks to secure a spot on the Netherlands national team for the FIFA World Cup in November.
