Paris Saint-Germain goalkeeper Keylor Navas is the backup behind Gianluigi Donnarumma after manager Christophe Galtier made it clear that there will not be a rotation of goalkeepers during the 2022-23 season.
However, that’s an issue for Navas, who wants regular minutes as he prepares to be a part of the Costa Rica national team at the FIFA World Cup in November.
Navas was linked to Serie A side Napoli, but it appears as though the veteran shot-stopper might have to cross off the Italian club as a possible suitor.
The Athletic reported on Saturday that Napoli is now looking at signing Chelsea backup goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga and is in talks over a loan move for the Spain international.
The Italian side wanted Navas but reportedly wanted PSG to split the 35-year-old’s wages, but it was an arrangement the Ligue 1 champions were not keen on doing to allow the move to occur.
Napoli is looking for a replacement for David Ospina, who departed this summer. It appears the Chelsea shot-stopper is their number one target rather than working out something with PSG for Navas.
