Paris Saint-Germain held its first preseason training session of the year on Monday, which featured players who did not join their respective international teams over the past month.
Lionel Messi was among those PSG players who did play in international fixtures following the conclusion of the 2021-2022 season, as he took part in the Argentina national team’s 2022 Finalissima clash against Italy and its friendly encounter with Estonia.
According to RMC Sport, Messi is slated to make his first training appearance of the preseason on July 11. Messi will undergo medical tests and take part in some light training activities with the rest of his available PSG teammates.
Overall, it will be noteworthy to see whether Messi will play in any of the club’s upcoming friendly matches, which include a matchup against Ligue 2 side Quevilly-Rouen on July 15.
Messi is coming off of a season where he chipped in with 20 total goal contributions in Ligue 1 play.
