For the last few days, Leeds United has been connected to Paris Saint-Germain forward Arnaud Kalimuendo. The Premier League side is interested in the 20-year-old, and with the arrival of Hugo Ekitike, many would assume the capital club could move on from him.
According to CBS Sports’ Ben Jacobs, Leeds United has their eyes on Kalimuendo, but even with Ekitike on the squad now, a deal is not a given. Furthermore, Jacobs adds that Kalimuendo has impressed manager Christophe Galtier.
Kalimuendo is in the squad for the Japan pre-season tour, and the young forward is doing all he can to stay in Paris. Over the past two campaigns, the striker has been on loan with RC Lens, making 65 appearances for the Ligue 1 side, scoring 21 goals and six assists.
Regarding a possible transfer fee for the English club, PSG has put an asking price of €25 million. Furthermore, Newcastle United has been another club reportedly in the mix.
However, if the current Ligue 1 champions compete in all their competitions, they’ll need players who can come off the bench or start when required, and Kalimuendo can provide that for them for next season.
