Paris Saint-Germain has yet to trim its squad down and offload players with no future in the French capital. One of them is midfielder Idrissa Gueye, who has some interest from a former club.
According to a report, Everton is exploring the option of bringing back Gueye, who spent between 2016 and 2019 at Goodison Park. The 32-year-old has one more year on his deal, and PSG might be looking to secure a fee rather than losing him on a free transfer.
The midfield is becoming crowded with the arrival of Vitinha and the possible recruitment of Renato Sanches; Gueye might have to look elsewhere for playing time this season.
No further information as to the amount The Toffees would offer for their former player, but PSG isn’t likely to ask for too much for Gueye. It will be interesting to see whether there is more interest in the veteran midfielder or if the Ligue 1 side will be stuck with him for the entire season.
