As Paris Saint-Germain looks to strengthen their backline and talks with Inter Milan’s Milan Škriniar have stalled, the capital club could have to begin looking at alternatives. One player that PSG is reportedly in on is Sevilla’s Jules Kounde.
However, the Plan B option that involves Kounde appears to be falling by the wayside. According to CBS Sports‘ Ben Jacobs, Kounde will sign a contract with Chelsea until 2027, having already agreed to personal terms.
The Blues have fought off interest from PSG and FC Barcelona, with the Spanish club not making a formal counter-offer since they couldn’t match Chelsea’s £55 million fee. As a result, only formalities remain between the Premier League club and La Liga side to complete the deal.
As for the French giants, PSG will have to decide whether to present a suitable offer to land the 27-year-old or perhaps eye another option now that it seems that Kounde will be off the table.
