Chelsea is still looking to rebuild their defense following the departures of various players. Despite his intention to remain with Paris Saint-Germain, Presnel Kimpembe is still a name linked to the Premier League club.

According to the German publication Bild, The Blues remain interested in the 26-year-old. Furthermore, he isn’t the lone French defender manager Thomas Tuchel eyes as Bayern Munich’s Benjamin Pavard and Leicester City’s Wesley Fofana.

Sky Sports adds that Fofana would be the lead candidate for Chelsea, but the outlet is reporting nothing more than only interest.

It will be interesting to see if Tuchel can convince his former player to potentially sell him on the project and reunite with him at Stamford Bridge. PSG is open to selling Kimepmbe, but only if he wants to exit.

Meanwhile, PSG remains looking for another central defender to add as they transition to a backline of three. The current Ligue 1 champions are keen on Inter Milan’s Milan Škriniar, but both parties cannot reach an agreement on a deal.
