Pundit Says Lionel Messi Wouldn’t Play for Any Top Six Premier League Club

Lionel Messi is coming off a rough first season with Paris Saint-Germain, where the 35-year-old struggled to find his scoring boots. However, he did become more of a facilitator, but the Argentine is paid his high wages for scoring goals, which didn’t come.

As a result, some pundits are using the lack of goal production from last season to fire out some controversial takes. TalkSPORT pundit Danny Mills stated that he doesn’t think any of the Premier League top six would take Messi right now.

“Would you take Lionel Messi right now? Probably not…,” Mills said. “Man City? No. Liverpool? No. Spurs? I don’t think they would.”

These comments likely won’t bother Messi, but the Argentine should ponder using these remarks made by Mills and others like him to fuel him this upcoming season to display that he still has the goal-scoring capabilities.

Messi arrived sooner than he was scheduled to at the Camp des Lodges to begin preparations for the 2022-23 campaign, where the capital club will have a new manager at the helm in Christophe Galtier.

  1. Probably, Mr. Danny Mills played more than 350 games at different level and scored a paltry!!! I thank less than a paltry sum of 9 goals. Appeared as a football pundit now a days and talking about the acceptability of Messi!!

I think he should keep quiet and see how this old Messi (!!!) surpass and score goal more than his career achievement in a single year.

  2. He’s in no position to say if a team is gonna accept Messi transfer the name only is bigger than his whole career he can’t even clean Messi’s shoe. He’s still in top level any team out there will still feel lucky to have him given the right circumstances

  3. Messi could play for any team regardless of which league and still produce. I read him saying that he would concentrate on playmaking this past season and that’s what he did. He may not play like he did but he still plays better than most. He excels at every aspect of the game.
