The Mauricio Pochettino era ended this week as Paris Saint-Germain and the Argentine parted ways. As a result, it allowed the French giants to appoint Christophe Galtier as their new gaffer.
While many, including Galtier, are excited about the changes occurring at the capital club, talkSPORT pundit Gabriel Agbonlahor stated that the French manager doesn’t know what he’s in for, saying that if it didn’t work with Pochettino, it most likely isn’t going to work with him.
“To be honest, that’s a job that I feel no one wants. Really. The PSG job, the amount of egos that are there, you got Neymar, Mbappe, and Messi,” Agbonlahor said.
“It was never going to work. It didn’t work with Thomas Tuchel, who, for me, is a better manager than Mauricio Pochettino …. Honestly, I feel for Galtier because he doesn’t know what he’s gotten himself in for.”
Furthermore, Agbonlahor adds that Kylian Mbappe, Lionel Messi, and Neymar are the real managers who run the Ligue 1 champions. He cited that it didn’t work with Thomas Tuchel, who left, landed at Chelsea, and won the UEFA Champions League knowing that no player is above him.
🇫🇷 “Poch took a risk taking the #PSG job.”
🔥 “Messi, Neymar and Mbappe run that club. They are the managers!”

“Messi, Neymar, and Mbappe run that club; they run the changing room. They’re the managers. Simple as that. You can’t take one of them off because they’re going to throw a strap on the side of the pitch. It’s a horrible job,” Agbonlahor said.
“Look at Thomas Tuchel. He’s left there. He’s come to Chelsea, no one’s bigger than Thomas Tuchel and he wins the Champions League.”
These remarks don’t consider the changes that occurred at the top with sporting director Leonardo now gone and Luis Campos coming in and has a connection with Galtier, which hasn’t been the case in the past. Will it work? Time will tell.
