Conflicting reports suggest that the deal that would see Sassuolo striker Gianluca Scamacca to Paris Saint-Germain isn’t done. The 23-year-old is the marquee target by sporting advisor Luis Campos to replace the likely outgoing Mauro Icardi.
TUTTOmercatoWEB reports that the latest offer from the French giants is €35 million; however, the Serie A side is asking for €10 million to €15 million more than what Ligue 1 champions are putting on the table.
Also, Atletico Madrid remains interested in Scamacca as they seek a replacement for the departing Luis Suarez. Still, the capital club holds an advantage over the Spanish club as PSG approaches and negotiates with the Italian international’s agent.
Furthermore, the report states that the Sassuolo striker is the chosen player the incoming manager Christophe Galtier wants ahead of the new season. During the 2021-22 season, Scamacca appeared in 38 fixtures, scoring 16 goals for the Serie A club.
It will be interesting to see if PSG can secure a deal for the forward this summer to add another young goal scorer to go alongside Kylian Mbappe.
