Paris Saint-Germain was in the race for newly signed West Ham United striker Gianluca Scamacca. On Wednesday, Sky Sports’ Dharmesh Sheth reported that the capital club made one last effort to sign the 23-year-old striker.
Despite the current Ligue 1 champions attempting to make one final push to land the Italian striker, it was unsuccessful. According to Sheth, Scamacca & his representatives gave their word that the former Sassuolo goal scorer would sign with West Ham United.
The French giants weren’t alone in their interest in Scamacca, as AC Milan, Borussia Dortmund, and two other Premier League clubs were also in the race.
PSG could never see eye to eye with the Italian club over the asking price for the striker. The last reported offer from the sporting advisor Luis Campos and management was €35 million, which is well short of the €50 million Sassuolo demanded.
Nonetheless, Les Parisiens won’t be left without a striker as they landed Hugo Ekitike from Stade de Reims, who will take over the goal-scoring responsibilities for the squad.
Because Messi, Neymar and Mbappe aren’t enough…
