Chelsea remains in pursuit of finding another center-back and their focus appears to be zoned in on Paris Saint-Germain’s Presnel Kimpembe.
After losing key players on their backline, The Blues are rebuilding, and they hope the 26-year-old can be part of their new look defense. On Tuesday, Bild’s Christian Falk reported that the English club wants to find another center-back for manager Thomas Tuchel.
Kimpembe remains a priority for the Premier League side, while discussions with PSG remain ongoing. Nonetheless, it’s the France international’s decision whether he wants to stay or go.
The current Ligue 1 champions won’t force out the central defender, who has two years left on his current deal. Nonetheless, Le10Sport is reporting that Kimpembe intends to stay with his boyhood club rather than head to Stamford Bridge.
Both sporting advisor Luis Campos and manager Christophe Galtier hold the player in high regard but wouldn’t stand in his way of seeking a new challenge. Nonetheless, it seems as though Kimpembe will remain.
