Paris Saint-Germain is reportedly in the mix for a striker to improve their position as they look to offload Mauro Icardi this summer. One of the names linked to the capital club is Stade de Reims striker Hugo Ekitike.

The reigning Ligue 1 champions are also looking at Sassuolo’s goal scorer. Nonetheless, Foot Mercato reports that the 20-year-old prioritizes a move to PSG, as the striker wants to play alongside Kylian Mbappe.

Ekitike reportedly believes that playing alongside the 23-year-old will help his game grow. The striker was also convinced by the project sold by Luis Campos and Nasser Al-Khelaïfi, who participated in the preliminary discussions.

Nonetheless, the French media outlet adds that PSG has yet made no offer for the Stade de Reims striker. Furthermore, Les Parisiens is currently not ready to set the bar as high as Newcastle United, which put forth €40 million, but no further update if he’s open to heading to the Premier League side.

Although it seems as though Ekitike has his heart set on joining the French giants, he does not rule out spending a few more months with Stade de Reims to show that he’s worth that sum.
