The goalkeeping situation at Paris Saint-Germain is beginning to take shape. First, Alphonse Areola left for West Ham United permanently, and now it seems they’ll be looking to offload Keylor Navas with Gianluigi Donnarumma, the undisputed starter.
Sporting advisor Luis Campos is already looking for a backup to Donnarumma, as Spanish media outlet AS reports that one of his goals, even for next season, is Iñaki Peña, a 23-year-old goalkeeper who belongs to FC Barcelona.
Campos knows Peña from his time as an advisor for Galatasaray, a team in which the Spanish goalkeeper was on loan last season. The Barcelona man has one more year on his deal, and it seems the PSG club chief wants to bring him to the French capital.
According to the report, Campos was dazzled by the young shot-stopper, who is a goalkeeper with great footwork and excellent reflexes. The Portuguese intend to lay the groundwork to sign Peña to a pre-contract in January when he is eligible to talk with other clubs for a deal in 2023-24.
