Paris Saint-Germain’s Presnel Kimpembe is reportedly on Chelsea’s transfer list as the Premier League club attempts to rebuild its central defense position.
Despite The Blues having an interest in the 26-year-old and various outlets confirming possible talks of Kimpembe reuniting with his former manager, Thomas Tuchel, they don’t discuss what it would take to get a deal done for the defender.
The capital club reportedly values the France international at €50 million. Although talkSPORT’s transfer expert Alex Crook doesn’t give an exact number Chelsea is willing to pay for the center-back, he does say both sides are far apart from finding common ground.
“[Chelsea] want Kimpembe as well and have started talks with PSG, although I think the two clubs are fairly wider part at the moment in terms of their evaluation of the French international,” Crook said.
PSG is currently in the mix of landing another defender to bring competition to the central defense as they’re attempting to land Milan Skriniar from Inter Milan.
As a result, Kimpembe isn’t guaranteed minutes next season. Furthermore, with the World Cup on the horizon, he wants to make sure that the starting role on the France national team is his, and losing minutes this upcoming season can see him miss out on that position.
