Paris Saint-Germain’s attack will run through Kylian Mbappé, Lionel Messi, and Neymar Jr. However, there’s a new arrival in Hugo Ekitiké, who hopes to gain the confidence of the trio and the striker to score goals this upcoming season.
On Thursday, the former Stade de Reims goal scorer spoke with Le Parisien about many topics, including playing alongside the star players up front for the capital club.
Despite the star status of the forward group, the 20-year-old is motivated to have his new teammates adapt his playing style and evolve as the season progresses.
“I fear it very well because, at PSG, the pace of matches is not the same as elsewhere,” Ekitiké told the French publication.
“There are more competitions to play, and by rubbing shoulders with players like Messi, Neymar, and Mbappé on a daily basis, we are bound to progress. It’s up to me to impose my way of playing so that they adopt me and that we find solutions to evolve together.”
Ekitiké has a lot of potential, and one of the storylines early in the 2022-23 season is how he meshes with Mbappé, Messi, and Neymar. The France international would likely want to hit the ground running to gain confidence and perhaps be an outside chance of making the national team.
Playing in Paris, the young goal scorer will have a lot of eyes on him, but if the chemistry with his new teammates goes smoothly and he scores goals, perhaps Ekitiké could be heading to play in Qatar.
