English Pundit Predicts What Will Happen at PSG Under Christophe Galtier

Paris Saint-Germain has a new manager in Christophe Galtier, who comes over from OGC Nice and teams up with sporting advisor Luis Campos with the two men having success together at Lille OSC, winning Ligue 1 in 2021.

However, talkSPORT pundit Trevor Sinclair doesn’t expect the French tactician to be any better than his predecessor Mauricio Pochettino, who was also sacked this week to make way for the hiring of Galtier.

Sinclair stated that Galtier isn’t going to bring anything different than the Argentine did during his year and a half stint with the French giants.

“Well, unless you can win the Champions League. Yes, because that’s the main objective that you’re brought to a football club. Now you look at the boy that brought in Galtier,” Sinclair said.

“He was at Nice last year. They finished fifth. He’s been a manager for quite a while. But what’s he going to bring to PSG more than what Pochettino? Absolutely nothing.”

Furthermore, the English football pundit stated that until PSG scraps its philosophy, they wouldn’t come close to winning a UEFA Champions League until PSG scraps its philosophy. However, this claim is wrong, considering the capital club brought Campos to move them in a different direction.

“I can’t see them winning [the Champions League]. Unless they change their model, unless they start to get a proper A team where you’re basing it on a good defensive line, not just getting Galacticals into playing that forward line and the superstars and expecting them to win you games,” Sinclair said.

Only time will tell if Galtier is the right hire, but he has confidence in the man building the team, which has been rare at PSG over the last few years.
