A recent report from Foot Mercato suggests that Chelsea would be preparing to swoop in and land RB Leipzig defender Nordi Mukiele, who is linked to a move to Paris Saint-Germain.
Despite the scare from having the Premier League side swoop in and steal the transfer, considering the report stated they’d be willing to offer Timo Werner. However, Sky Sport Germany’s Florian Plettenberg reports the former RB Leipzig striker won’t be part of any deal.
Plettenberg adds that Mukiele is on the verge of joining PSG, with the Bundesliga side receiving around a €15 million transfer fee and possible bonus payments.
Mukiele will add depth to the right-back position and allows the capital club to rotate between the 24-year-old and Achraf Hakimi. Furthermore, the France international can also play central defense if needed, so he brings versatility to the current Ligue 1 champions.
Should the deal go through, the Leipzig defender will be the French giants’ third recruit of the summer transfer window, joining Vitinha and Hugo Ekitike to help reinforce the squad.
