Paris Saint-Germain is in the market for another central defender, and while Inter Milan’s Milan Škriniar is the main target, a deal has yet to materialize. As a result, the capital club could be looking at other options, such as Sevilla’s Jules Koundé.
However, if Koundé is at the top of their alternatives, the current Ligue 1 champions could see the 23-year-old off the market. According to the Daily Mail, Chelsea should soon make a new offer for the French defender.
The Blues have advanced in discussion with Sevilla for the transfer of the talented center-back. The Spanish club rejected the first bid of €55 million, but the Premier League side should soon make a new proposal to approach the €65 million they desire in a transfer fee.
If Koundé does indeed end up at Chelsea and PSG cannot make any progress toward securing a transfer for Škriniar, it will be interesting to see where the capital club goes from here and what alternative options they will look at this summer.
