Paris Saint-Germain is reportedly open to letting central defender Presnel Kimpembe exit, and there’s no shortage of interest for the 26-year-old defender this summer. Juventus and Chelsea are cited as having their eyes on the France international.
However, they aren’t alone. Goal (via AS) reports that Atletico Madrid is in the mix for Kimpembe. The media outlet adds that the defender’s representatives met with the board for the Spanish club a few days ago in Madrid.
Despite the meeting between the two parties, the services of the center-back would be unnecessary unless there is a surprise departure of Mario Hermoso or José María Giménez.
For any club looking to secure this summer, PSG has already set the asking price of €50 million to let go of Kimpembe, who has two years left on his current contract but wants a new deal to see him earn similar to what Marquinhos earns in wages.
Also, the capital club is bringing in competition for the center-back position. With the World Cup later this year, it will be interesting to see whether Kimpembe wants to stay and fight for his spot or go somewhere he’s guaranteed playing time.
