A Report Details Mindset of Lionel Messi at PSG Ahead of 2022-23 Season

By the standards of Lionel Messi, many could consider his first season at Paris Saint-Germain a disappointment, but it seems as though the 35-year-old wants year two to be different.

French publication L’Equipe (via PSG Hub) reports that Messi has two goals entering the 2022-23 season: to bring a UEFA Champions League to the capital club and to win the FIFA World Cup with the Argentina national team.

This season the former FC Barcelona captain is more open and fulfilled. Furthermore, he came back physically sharp in early July to possibly ensure that the Argentine hits the ground running in his second season at PSG.

Nonetheless, at some point, Messi will need to ponder his future, considering his contract with the current Ligue 1 champions expires next summer. Les Parisiens are reportedly keen on extending the forward for another year.

Recently, Barcelona has been vocal about possibly bringing Messi back to have him finish his career at the Camp Nou. There’s also the pull of perhaps playing in MLS for Inter Miami, who have not hidden their ambition to land the Argentine.
