West Ham United Reportedly Agrees to Keep PSG Loanee

Paris Saint-Germain is about to see their goalkeeping depth chart reduced by one player. Alphonse Areola spent the 2021-22 season on loan at West Ham United, and now it seems as though the France international will be remaining in East London.

According to RMC Sport’s Loïc Tanzi, it’s a done deal for Areola to remain with The Hammer. The 3rd goalkeeper of the France national team will leave the PSG on Monday to commit definitively to the Premier League side.

Tanzi doesn’t include the transfer fee to keep the 29-year-old, but the trimming of the capital club squad is now in motion, and those with value will begin their exit.

Last season, Areola made 17 appearances for West Ham, where he made eight clean sheets and played a significant role in their run to the UEFA Europa League semifinals, where they fell to the eventual winners of the tournament Eintracht Frankfurt.

Furthermore, David Moyes’ squad finished seventh in the Premier League, clinching a European spot for next season.
