For the first time in his career with the Argentina national team, Lionel Messi has recorded a goal contribution in a final.

Over the opening half of Argentina’s 2022 Finalissima encounter against the Italian national team, Messi recorded an assist as he played the role of a playmaker in Lautaro Martinez’s key opener. The Paris Saint-Germain forward made it look quite easy with a crucial pass deep in the final third.
