The transfer saga of Aurélien Tchouameni lasted weeks, with Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain vying to land the 22-year-old midfielder. Nonetheless, after winning the Kylian Mbappe sweepstakes, this round went to the Spanish club as they secured a deal for the AS Monaco midfielder.
On Tuesday, Real Madrid presented the midfielder. One of the revelations to come out of the press conference was Tchouameni admitting that he had conversations with Mbappe about joining PSG.
However, the France international stated that he wanted to join Los Blancos, which was what happened has both clubs reached an agreement of around €80-million with the other €20-million being in bonuses.
“Kylian Mbappé spoke to me; he asked me if I could come to PSG. But I told him that I wanted to join Real Madrid, my choice has always been Madrid. He understood my decision and is happy for me,” Tchouameni said.
